HOW TO PLAY
LEARN THE RULES

  • Played on a smaller enclosed court, padel features walls, which allow players to use rebounds as part of the game, adding a unique strategic element. The rackets used in padel are solid and perforated, unlike the strung rackets of tennis, which affects both the feel and control of the ball. Matches are typically played in doubles format, fostering a more social and collaborative atmosphere compared to the often solitary nature of tennis.

The overall pace of the game tends to be faster, emphasising quick reflexes and teamwork!

  • Players serve underhand diagonally into the opponent's service box, and the ball must bounce once before being returned. They are allowed one bounce on their side of the court before returning the ball, and players can hit the ball against the walls after it has bounced.

Matches are typically played in a best-of-three sets format, with each set won by the first team to reach six games, provided they lead by at least two games. In the case of a tie at 6-6, a tie-breaker is played to determine the winner of the set. Points are scored in a traditional manner: 15, 30, 40, and game, with the necessity to win by two clear points to secure the game.

  • To book a padel court with Playtomic, first, download the Playtomic app here. Create an account or log in if you already have one. Once you're in, select ‘PADEL 16’, and choose from the available courts. You can filter by date and time to find the slot that suits you best - you can also join other games happening if you don’t have 3 others to play with.

After selecting your desired court, proceed to the payment section where you can secure your booking.

FABIO BORINI
